Research and Extension Efforts

Research and extension programs cover all areas of agronomic production and management of flue-cured and burley tobacco including Official Variety Testing, transplant production, weed control, sucker control, pesticide residue evaluation and fertilization.

Courses Taught

CS 062 Tobacco Production

Flue-cured tobacco production, with emphasis on crop management practices, variety selection, transplant production, integrated pest management, fertilization, harvesting and curing, competitiveness in the world market, product needs of the tobacco manufacturing industry, and the role of climate and soil on yield and quality.
